ISFT Enhances Faculty Capacity for SDG Integration in Academic Teaching
On 19 February 2026, the Strategic Department of ISFT organized a seminar-training for the Department of Philology and Language Teaching dedicated to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative aimed to strengthen faculty awareness and promote the integration of sustainability principles into academic curricula.
The event brought together 21 professors, led by the Head of the Department, for an in-depth discussion on the UN SDG framework and ISFT’s institutional priority goals. Participants explored practical mechanisms for embedding global values into teaching practices, emphasizing that education is not only about knowledge transfer but also about shaping a responsible and future-oriented generation. Particular attention was given to gender equality in education, inclusive economic participation, responsible consumption, and lifelong learning principles. The Department’s ongoing volunteer initiative, providing free English language classes to underprivileged children, was highlighted as a concrete contribution to social inclusion and equal access to opportunities. Faculty members also discussed how language education can strengthen students’ employability skills and sustainability-oriented mindsets.
The initiative directly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). ISFT reaffirms its commitment to aligning higher education with global sustainability priorities and advancing measurable social impact.
