English Speaking Club — A Platform for Professional Development at ISFT Institute
The Department of Philology and Language Teaching at ISFT Institute has launched the “English Speaking Club” initiative for faculty members representing various academic disciplines across the Institute. The platform is designed to enhance teachers’ oral English proficiency, strengthen professional communication skills, and promote the effective use of English within the academic environment.
The programme engages numerous instructors from different departments and is conducted twice a week using interactive methodologies. Each session incorporates structured discussions, role-play activities, fluency and pronunciation practice, as well as individual and group feedback. The format encourages active participation, peer learning, and continuous reflective improvement. Through regular engagement, participants build confidence in delivering lectures, participating in international academic events, and communicating effectively with global partners.
The initiative directly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening academic capacity and promoting lifelong learning among educators. By enhancing English communication competencies, the programme also supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), facilitating more effective international collaboration and academic exchange.
