Expanding Early English Learning through Student Volunteer Engagement
In line with its commitment to inclusive education and community engagement, the Department of Philology and Language Teaching at ISFT Institute supports a volunteer initiative in which philology students provide online English lessons for young learners aged four and above who are eager to begin their language-learning journey. This initiative reflects ISFT’s contribution to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by broadening access to early learning opportunities.
Through this program, student volunteers conduct interactive English lessons using Round-Up coursebooks alongside age-appropriate digital tools and communicative activities. The online format enables flexible participation, while interactive methods such as games, songs, and visual tasks help create a positive and engaging learning environment for young learners. These approaches encourage curiosity, confidence, and foundational language development at an early age.
For ISFT students, the initiative offers meaningful hands-on teaching experience, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in authentic educational settings and develop professional competencies essential for future educators. At the same time, the program fosters empathy, responsibility, and community awareness among student volunteers.
By connecting academic preparation with service-oriented practice, ISFT continues to promote equitable learning opportunities and nurture future English language teachers who are committed to educational quality, inclusion, and sustainable development.
